The Museum closed to the public after May 15th at 5 PM, as directed by The Douglas County Board of Commissioners.
Since that time we have been prevented from having any access to the Musuem. There appears to be issue with security. Your Museum staff has been custodians of your trusted items for over 27 years with no issues.
It is our fervent hope we can regain access to proceed with requested improvements. As far as we know all items are undisturbed and safe and will remain so on our reentry.
The Museum is reorganizing as DC Museum, Inc., with new by-laws and new Board of Directors. During this time improvements are hoped to be made throughout the Museum, including both operations and exhibitions.
A new lease as a new entity will then be pursued with the Board of Commissioners.
All the artifacts entrusted to the Museum's care were safe and intact prior to our lockout and are expeced to remain so.
